My beautiful new notebook

I hate going back to school every October. It's just so far away from home and nothing much to do there. I need some consolation and support and I mostly find that in cute, beautiful and funny school equipment. :) Yesterday my mom bought some to me. It's the most beautiful notebook I have ever had! Of course ... I chose it. :P

It has some beauuuuutiful art! A self portrait called "Soul and Tears" by Laurel Burch. I'm going to use it as a planner with a calendar for this school year. I hope it makes it a little bit better and easier. There's also an interesting thought inside:

"The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears."

... yes ... we have to experience bad things to appreciate good ones. And we obvously have to go away if we want to wish to come home again. :)

pursuit of new goals. :)

I have a little bit of a bad day again.
Another study year is coming to an end and I'm not very happy about beginning the next one. I just happen to fall into that lazy stage that includes resting, sleeping, reading, cleaning around (very calming thing for me) and decorating my new nest. I have become exactly the person I said I would never like to become - the person whose life consists of job (which is school for me) and family, a person who is slowly becoming a wife-and-a-mother person with no other interests and a pretty much boring life. Damn!

Let's see ...

*I used to be crazy about stunts and tumbling in cheerleading, crazy about dance. Last year I took hip hop for my P.E. class and modern jazz for my free time activity. My goal in my cheer season was to learn back somersault. That project ended exactly 12 days after the beginning of the cheer season when tore my groin diaphragm that still hutrs today, one year later. Exercising not recommended. What now?

*Well yes, I started baking and I really LOVE it! But it's a fatal combination ... less exercising, more pastry ... You probably know what I mean.

*I auditioned for a musical that some students from my faculty were making and got accepted as a dancer and even got a small part in it! Unfortunately people just weren't serious enough and the whole thing fell apart.

*I was lucky enough to have a room mate who was the editor at the local student radio station and got me a kind of internship there. What an interesting month! I was visiting book premiers, attended interviews with authors and wrote some pretty good reports. Unfortunately politics and personal relations got involved and the editor was sacked by the director and so was I as her "apprentice" ...

Am I a bit unlucky or just too lazy to find another interesting goal in my life? Something that I can do despite my stupid useless leg?  Suggestions please! :)

In some camp few years ago we had a workshop about success and discussed that topic. I said that for me a successful person is a person who achieves his/her goals. I had a lot of goals back then: to find a good summer job, to be accepted to uni and be a good student, to train hard in my cheer squad ...

People have to aim somewhere and pursuit their goals! It looks like I lost my direction at the moment ...  and I hate it. So maybe another study year - as much as I hate being away - will be a good opportunity after all. Moving back to the dorm and being alone in the afternoons will probably force me to find something. :)

Is it possible to be cuter than that?

I'm babysitting my boyfriend's nephew from time to time ... today I was doing it with a camera. I like photography but I don't really know what to do with an SLR camera so I was practicing a bit.
And look at him!

Isn't he the cutest little thing in the world? :))

Howdy! How's it goin'?

:)

I am SO tired right now. This weekend really was exhausting. I still speak and think in English every now and then :) My friends Acacia and Brooke from US came over. They are studying in Florence Sept.-Dec. so they decided to visit me for a few days. We have driven all over this small country (we've really done that too much :S ) and have seen so many beautiful things. But I think that the beautiful things aren't always the one that make our day. So can I tell you some extraordinary or not so "every day" stories that will definitely represent this weekend with my friends in my memory? :)

1) This poor guy! We were driving down the street and there was this guy pushing his car on the sidewalk because it has broken down. We just thought that was bad... but what a bad luck! When he was pushing it down the street he had another accident - he accidentally pushed his car into the pole and damaged it even more! Ahh :/ :)

2) Japanese tourists - so annoying sometimes! We met a group of them when we went to see the cave, we were kind of late and some woman asked me to take a photo of in front of something completely insignificant. OK. Half an hour later that same woman annoyed me again and I took another photo of her. We took of for Bled which is 102 km away and THAT SAME LADY came by again and asked us to take a photo of her. I mean .. what the f... ... ? :D

3) The dogs thing: Acacia was taking photos of the village for her landscape photography assignment and she wanted to take a photo of some cows. They were really cute but then a bunch of dogs rushed down the street, barking and snarling. Sounds horrible? They were all 20 cm tall and they looked like a bunch of rats. But still, they were brave as lions, ran into us and ripped Acacia's trousers. We were laughing and being shocked at the same time! Those dogs are crazy, for sure :P My boyfriend's mother is really good at sewing, luckily. :)

4) Today we went to Slovenian coast and we found this great second-hand book store. Acacia bought some prayer books for her father and I also found something great. 2 Balzac's books, one Voltaire's, Hemingway's For Whom the Bells Tolls and another one I can't remember right now. 5 books for 10 €! That shop definitely is a great find and the owner is funny too. We saw him few hours later, lying down at the beach and just chilling. He just said: "I have a great job, don't you think?" .. and smiled. :)

5) The great view: Acacia wanted to go paragliding. We were all ready to go so we went up the hill, she was already equipped to fly and suddenly the wind changed. We were waiting for the right wind to come but it just didn't come. We sat upthere for 2 hours! But we really had a GREAT view. :)

... aah I'm just so tired right now :S I hope they arrived home without any problems - Italian railways are unfortunately not known for their reliability. :) I'm going to head to bed now ... What are your non-typical stories from your trips? :)

Lazy ... L..aaa....zzzZZZzzzZZZzzz... y. :)

Oooh, I've heard I don't write enough so that people worry if I'm still alive. I am! I promise! :))

I have some news!
After studying and studying and learning and doing exercises and studying .. blah ... :S

...the best news is definitely the one about passing Slovene Sytnax exam with a 10! That's the highest possible grade and it's my first 10 in 2 years of studying and I am very happy about it :D Of course my schoolmates mock me now and call me a nerd but I don't care much ... Well I hope they don't mean it :P That same professor is also teaching us word formation next year so it's good to have a bonus and a good reputation ;)

Index books are getting old and passé since we have all grades online but this one was worth of taking a picture ;)

When I thought Iwas done with school for this summer I still had to apply for the next year - papers papers papers!!! I hate Bureaucracy! :)

Now that I'm done with that too I enjoy my month of holidays ... I sleep in in the mornings, go out with my friends in the evening, I am being a party animal from time to time, I went to the beach for the weekend, I spend time with my boyfriend's little nephew (he's adorable!! we watch cartoons together ;) ) I bake cakes and muffins - a little bit of everything....

This weekend my friends from America are coming over and we're going to have a small Slovenia trip - we're all excited and you'll know about it for sure!!

But now I have to go and be lazy again :))
